Skydio X2E batteries are seated using magnets that may potentially attract metallic debris.  Prior to installing your battery, visually inspect the magnets and connector pins, to ensure that they are clean and free of debris or damage. DO NOT use if damage has occurred to magnets or connector pins.

Charging your batteries using Skydio Dual Charger

The Dual Charger is capable of simultaneously providing current to two batteries. However, it will prioritize fully charging the battery with the highest charge level. The excess input power will begin charging the second battery. Allow approximately two hours to fully charge batteries.


Step 1 - Slide one or both batteries down the guard rails onto the dual charger

    • magnets will engage properly seating the battery

Step 2 - Connect the provided USB-C cable to the 100 W power adaptor

Step 3 - Plug the power adaptor into a 100-240 V power source

    • flashing lights indicate charging
    • no light indicates that the charge is complete


Charging your battery using Skydio X2E

You can also use X2E to charge your batteries:


Step 1 - Slide the battery into the battery tray until it is fully seated

Step 2 - Connect your X2E using the provided USB-C cable and 100 W power adaptor

Step 3 - Plug the power adaptor into a 100-240 V power source

    • X2E will power on 
    • the battery lights will begin to flash indicating charging

Step 4 - X2E will power off indicating charging is complete

Safety Guidelines

Skydio X2E uses lightweight, rechargeable lithium polymer batteries (LiPo) that provide higher specific energy than other lithium batteries. Following the guidelines listed below will ensure long battery life and safe operation of your X2E.


    • charging should be completed in an open area
    • it is normal for the device to become warm to the touch 
    • do not operate X2E or charge batteries at temperatures below -10°C (14°F)
    • warm batteries in a room-temperature environment - DO NOT use higher heat (hairdryer, etc.) to accelerate heating
    • do not charge your batteries when the ambient temperature is above 35°C (95°F)


    • fully charge and discharge batteries every two months
    • store batteries at room temperature 22°C - 28°C (71°F - 82°F)
    • store batteries in a cool, dry area with less than 75% relative humidity
    • batteries in an idle state (14 days of idle time with no flights) will start to self-discharge in an effort to retain capacity. This may take several days to complete and it is normal for the battery to be slightly warm during this discharge process. 


    • do not disassemble the batteries, power adaptor, or dual charging docks 
    • avoid dropping or striking the batteries
    • do not attempt to use batteries that are damaged, dented, or ruptured after a crash or drop
    • do not immerse the batteries, charger, or charging docks in water or other liquids
    • lithium polymer batteries can leak, overheat, melt, release harmful gas, burst or ignite when exposed to heat, water, and other liquids or when pierced, punctured, or ruptured
    • if any substances leak from the battery pack and get into your eyes, do not rub them. Seek medical attention immediately!
    • contact your local waste facility to verify if lithium polymer batteries are permitted for disposal in your regular waste
    • do not insert any foreign material into the battery terminals
    • do not disassemble the battery enclosure


    • TSA and FAA guidelines state that spare (uninstalled) lithium batteries must be transported in carry-on baggage only.
    • when traveling with Skydio X2E in the United States, always pack the batteries in your carry-on luggage
