Overview

Sync your 3D Scan media from Skydio Cloud to your DroneDeploy dashboard. DroneDeploy offers a REST-based API endpoint integration with Skydio Cloud for seamless post-production modeling of your 3D Scan images. You will need to configure your Skydio Cloud and Media Sync API integration.

Needed

    • Skydio Administrative access
    • DroneDeploy Administrative access
    • Computer with Internet

Quick Steps

Step 1 - Log in to cloud.skydio.com
Step 2 - Set up your Skydio Cloud account: Getting Started with Skydio Cloud

Step 3 - Add Wireless Networks

    • Select Settings
    • Select Network
    • Select Add New Network
    • Input the SSID (name of your wireless network)
      Skydio 2: compatible with 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz networks
      Skydio 2+ and Skydio X2: compatible with 5 GHz networks
    • Input the password
    • Select Add New Network

Step 4 - Choose media to upload

    • Select the Settings icon
    • Select Media Upload
    • Select the type of media to upload

Step 5 - Sync your Skydio Cloud features

    • Select INFO
    • Select your drone
    • Select Cloud Settings
    1. Select Download features from Cloud to sync from Skydio Cloud to your controlling device.
    2. Select Sync Settings to Drone to sync Skydio Cloud settings from your controlling device to your drone.

Step 6 - Power on the drone

    • Select Connect on the Skydio Enterprise app or Skydio Controller

Step 7 - Plug in the drone to power

    • Media Sync to Skydio Cloud is triggered when the vehicle is connected to power.

Step 8 - Generate Skydio API token:

    • Log in to your Skydio Cloud account
    • Select Settings
    • Select API Tokens
    • Select Generate New Token

    • Name your token (DroneDeploy)
    • Select Add

Step 9 - Copy Token

Step 10 - Log in to your DroneDeploy account

Step 11 - Select a project

    • The project view defaults to the Explore tab
    • Paste the Skydio API Token
    • Select Sync Scans   

After your Skydio API token is validated, you will be able to choose the Skydio 3D Scans to sync to your project.

Reach out to DroneDeploy Customer Support if Skydio Sync does not display.

Step 12 - Skydio Sync

    • Create a new or navigate to an existing DroneDeploy project
    • Select the Upload tab
    • Select Sync Scan in the left side navigation menu

if there are Skydio 3D Scans available within a 10 km vicinity of a project they will be listed here.

Step 13 -  Select the Skydio 3D Scans that you want to sync to your DroneDeploy project

    • Select Sync Scans
    • DroneDeploy will retrieve your 3D Scan images and begin to render a model

Project members will receive an email when the model is complete
