Skydio Care is a protection plan that provides comprehensive coverage for accidental damage from collisions, water, and loss, saving you up to 70% on replacement costs. Designed to supplement the Skydio Limited Warranty, Skydio Care ensures that you enjoy flying your Skydio 2+ with greater peace of mind. Skydio Care offers leveled coverage that includes:

  • 1-year plan - up to 2 replacements
  • 2-year plan - up to 3 replacements
  • Enterprise - up to 3 replacements

Why are we introducing Skydio Care?

Skydio drones leverage market-leading computer vision to provide 360° obstacle avoidance, making them the easiest to fly on the market. The omnidirectional sense and avoid capabilities of Skydio drones allow users to safely navigate complex, dense environments out of reach for other drones in the market. However, no technology is infallible. As stated in the Skydio Safety and Operating Guide, we recommend that users avoid flying close to thin wires/branches less than ½ inch in diameter or reflective windows/mirrors/water.

Our prior consumer product warranty, in addition to hardware malfunctioning, covered only damages from crashes while flying within the operating guidelines, which tend to be infrequent. Damages from thin branches/wires, reflective surfaces, and lost drones, however, were not covered and customers had to pay full price for repair/replacements. This led to confusion about what was covered and what wasn’t.

Based on feedback from our community, we are expanding coverage plans to offer more complete protection to the customers who want it while lowering the overall drone cost to those who don’t. Going forward the Skydio Warranty, included with the drone, will only cover hardware failures - in line with industry standards - and will no longer cover damages from collisions, which allows us to bring the price of Skydio 2+ to $1,099 (vs. the prior price of $1,349 for Skydio 2). At the same time, Skydio 2+ owners who look for greater protection and peace of mind can now buy the new optional Skydio Care package that provides comprehensive coverage for any collision, water damages and drone losses.

Skydio Care 1-year plan includes 2 Fast Replacements, including one chance to use lost drone coverage (if your drone is irrecoverable).

Do I need to purchase Skydio Care the same time I purchase my drone?

You have up to 30 days to purchase Skydio Care after purchasing your Skydio 2+. Please contact Skydio Support to purchase Skydio Care if you have already ordered your drone.

How do I get a replacement drone if I damage my Skydio 2+?

If you damage your Skydio 2+ and wish to take advantage of one of your Skydio Care Fast Replacements, visit skydio.com/care to submit a Skydio Care Claim. For more detailed information visit: How to submit a Skydio Care claim.

Can I purchase Skydio Care for my Skydio 2?

Skydio Care is available for Skydio 2+ only and must be purchased within 30 days of purchasing your drone. It is not available for our earlier products like Skydio 2 or Skydio R1.

Can I transfer Skydio Care to another person if I give away my drone?

Skydio Care cannot be assigned or otherwise transferred by you to any third party under any condition, including but not limited to your transfer of the drone. Any such purported assignment or transfer is void and automatically terminates the Skydio Care coverage.
