Skydio X10D MH version 39.380
Skydio X10D MH Controller version 44.6.43 > 44.6.44

[note]This software release is supported on Skydio X10D MH only.[/note]

Skydio temporarily paused the Tactical Increment 2 release after identifying an issue with the distribution of the Map Layers component. Core system functionality was not affected. The issue was limited to the optional Map Layers feature and has since been resolved.

The Map Layers installation package has been updated to correct the distribution issue. This minor bug fix updates the controller software version only; the vehicle software version remains unchanged. For the best user experience, please ensure the controller is running the latest software version.

What's in this release

Microhard Radio Firmware Update

This release includes a Microhard Radio Firmware update. Vehicle and controller updates will take longer than usual during the installation of this firmware update.

Import and View Custom Map Layers

You can now upload and view KML, KMZ, MBTiles, GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, or GeoPDF files directly on the controller map. Turn layers on or off at any time, even during flight, to improve situational awareness and stay aligned with operational requirements. How to import and view custom map layers on the Skydio X10D Controller (Early Access Program)

  • Public safety - Import published wildfire boundary files from federal, state, or local agencies (such as federal fire maps in California or Colorado) to ensure safe operations in restricted areas
  • Utilities and inspection - Highlight poles, assets, or defined zones to stay within designated boundaries and streamline inspections
  • General awareness - Add custom overlays to avoid sensitive areas or keep flight operations aligned with mission objectives
  • Map layers are visual only and do not affect flight paths or mission logic

Paraverse on X10D WiFi-enabled controllers

This feature enables the X10D controller to connect to the Skydio Paraverse and simulate a flight without a real drone, providing controller-based training. Access to Skydio Paraverse is via the WiFi-enabled Controller feature, which requires an internet connection. How to access the Paraverse on Skydio X10D Controller

Quick Pitch and Quick Yaw for Faster, Repeatable Shots

New Quick Pitch and Quick Yaw shortcuts help Pilots reposition the camera and drone more quickly during inspection workflows. Make large, repeatable pitch and yaw adjustments with a single action, reducing the need for manual fine-tuning when capturing consistent views.

Two new quick camera positioning modes: Quick Gimbal Pitch and Quick Yaw. These introduce controller shortcuts for rapid, repeatable camera positioning during inspections.

  • Quick Pitch: Incrementally move the gimbal through preset angles  [-90°, -45°, 0°, 45°, 90°] with dedicated buttons for up/down.
  • Quick Yaw: Instantly rotate the drone 180° yaw with one tap, making it easy to capture backside views during corridor runs.

Updated Menus and Settings

The X10 Controller Flight Deck Quick Actions are now more consistent and easier to use:

  • Obstacle Avoidance - The Quick Action menu now includes simplified controls for turning Obstacle Avoidance ON or OFF and selecting a range (Standard, Close, or Minimal). A new gear icon provides a shortcut to the full Obstacle Avoidance settings in the Sensing menu.
  • Thermal Tools - The Thermal quick action menu has been updated, with a gear icon that takes you directly to the Tools tab of the Thermal Camera settings.
  • Skylens (Augmented Reality) - Skylens is now a single ON or OFF toggle (previous distance options have been removed). To streamline setup, Skylens settings have been moved under a new Augmented Reality section in Display settings, where you can adjust box styles and toggle the feature on or off.

Centralized X10 Controller Sound Settings

Sound controls have been streamlined into one place, giving you easier control over all audio settings on the controller. Sound controls are consolidated into a single Sound menu within Global Settings.

From here, you can adjust:

  • Controller speaker volume
  • Drone speaker volume
  • Notification volume
  • Camera shutter sounds

Enterprise Integrations

USB Networking tab

New USB Networking Menu with two options

  • USB-C Mode: Selecting the USB-C Mode option in the USB Networking section of the Sharing menu forces the USB port into USB host mode, making it compatible with third-party USB hubs. Standard should be selected in all other cases, which allows the USB port USB negotiation.
  • Static IP Addressing: Allows users to manually configure static IP settings for Ethernet connections made through the controller’s USB-C port. It introduces a simple workflow to assign an IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS when no DHCP server is available. By supporting static configuration, the controller can integrate with a wider range of tactical radios and networks that disable DHCP for security or policy without engineering assistance. Not supported on WiFi enabled controllers.

Auto-discovery for MAVLink clients via Avahi/MDNS

MAVLink (gated): Added Avahi (mDNS/DNS-SD) service advertisement for MAVLink communication. The system announces a UDP-based MAVLink service on the local network, allowing compatible clients to automatically discover the host without manual configuration.

Third-Party Attachments

Attachment developers can now add their own custom device identifiers (USB VID and PID) to Skydio X10D rather than needing to use those allocated by Skydio.

Adjust the video bitrate sent to the third party radio attachment. In the radio menu, select either Low, Medium, or High. The menu is visible only when a third-party radio is connected, allowing operators to optimize range, reliability, or video clarity based on mission conditions and the capabilities of their attached radio.
