This procedure explains how to apply Lens Filters to the VT300-L Sensor Package Camera Lenses.

Preparation

  1. Turn the Drone OFF.
    Press and hold the Battery button for 3 seconds.
    Warning:

    Risk of serious injury from rotating propellers. Propeller blades are sharp and can cause severe injuries. Keep fingers, hands, and all body parts away from moving Propellers at all times. Before replacing Propellers or the Sensor Package, ensure the Drone is off.



  2. Install the Drone Stabilizer Clip to the Sensor Package.


  3. Clean the Sensor Package and camera lenses with a Lens Cleaning Wipe.
    1. Clean the 500MP and 84MP Sensor Package camera lenses with a Lens Cleaning Wipe.
      Important: Do NOT apply a Lens Filter to the Radiometric Thermal Camera Lens.
      Note: A clean Microfiber Towel may be used in place of a Lens Cleaning Wipe.

    2. Clean the Sensor Package surface surrounding the camera lenses with a Lens Cleaning Wipe.


  4. Clean the suction surface of the plastic Applicator with a Lens Cleaning Wipe.
    Important: Keep the suction surface of the Applicator clean throughout the procedure. Debris on the Applicator transfers to the Lens Filter.

Installation Steps

  1. Remove 1x Lens Filter from the tray with the plastic Applicator.
    1. Remove the top plastic sheet liner from the Lens Filter tray.
    2. Place the suction surface of the Applicator on the Lens Filter.
    3. Lift the Lens Filter away from the backing liner.


  2. Align the Lens Filter with the center of the lens opening.
    Align the Lens Filter as follows:
    • On the large lens, center the Lens Filter within a single stair-step circle.
    • On the small lens, center the Lens Filter uniformly across the front of the lens.
    CAUTION:
    Do not tilt or skew the Lens Filter. A tilted Lens Filter obstructs the camera field of view.


  3. To activate the adhesive, firmly press the Lens Filter into place for 2-3 seconds.
  4. Remove the plastic Applicator from the Lens Filter.
  5. Remove the Lens Filter liner by gently pulling from the tab on the liner.


  6. Repeat the above process for the remaining Camera Lens.

Final Inspection

Inspect each applied Lens Filter.
Ensure the following:
  • No dust or debris is present between the Lens Filter and the Lens.
  • The Lens Filter is centered and uniform across the front of the Lens.
  • The Lens Filter is flush against the Lens with no lifting at the edges.
  • The Lens Filter surface is free of smudges.
Note: Debris or misalignment can cause the Lens Filter to lift away from the lens.
Once each Lens Filter is centered, fully adhered, and free of air pockets and debris, the Lens Filter application is complete. The Drone can be returned to normal fleet operations.
