Previously, Skydio discovered that a driver error had the potential to cause mismatched internal CPU version numbers, leading to an increase in the rate of update failures. The issue has now been resolved with software version 37.1.192.

Operational Impact: Attempted updates to software version 37.1.166 or higher may fail at Step 2, resulting in a flight-blocking fault (v339) at the Gate Screen.

Description, Identification, and Manifestation
When attempting to update from a previous release to version 37.1.166 or higher, the update process may fail roughly halfway through (we expect this error to occur during approximately 6% of update attempts). This typically presents itself as an update that stalls for an extended period of time (≥10 minutes) at Step 2 before displaying a message that the update failed. If the user then attempts to prepare for flight after failing the update, they will see a v339 error and be blocked from launching. Users will need to reboot the X10 Controller and drone and retry the update (successfully) before being able to resume flights.
Skydio has determined the root cause of this failure to be a mismatch in internal Central Processing Unit (CPU) version numbers caused by a vendor-provided driver error.

Operator Actions
If the update fails, reboot both the X10 Controller and drone and then try updating again (it may take two tries). If it continues to fail after the second attempt, reach out to Skydio Customer Support.
