This release is available to all Skydio X10 customers and introduces support for the new RTK/PPK attachment (Beta). In addition, this update includes a new Map Capture setting and general bug fixes and reliability improvements to further enhance your flight experience.
Skydio X10 RTK/PPK Attachment for High Precision Mapping (Beta)
The new RTK/PPK attachment for Skydio X10 delivers centimeter-level global accuracy for aerial Map Capture, enabling precise measurements and repeatable results across multiple scans. RTK (real-time kinematics) provides corrections during flight, while PPK (post-processed kinematics) applies corrections after the flight using data from Skydio X10 and your preferred base station.
- Ideal for a wide range of critical workflows in industries such as surveying, volumetric estimation, construction monitoring, or accident scene reconstruction
- Includes a new Map Capture setting specifically for use with the RTK/PPK attachment:
-
Lock AutoFocus - When enabled, X10 will automatically focus the first Map Capture image and maintain that focus throughout the scan
- Access RTK/PPK data on the Media Card within the Scans folder

Read Getting Started with the Skydio X10 RTK/PPK attachment and How to process RTK/PPK data for further guidance.
[note] Use of the RTK/PPK attachment is not yet supported with Skydio X10D, Connect 5G or Remote Flight Deck. [/note]
Known Issues
- While Trimble Business Center (version 2024.10) and DroneDeploy (version 2.604.0) support processing Skydio X10 Map Captures with RTK/PPK, corrections may result in geolocation errors that are larger than expected. Fixes from both platforms are expected in their future releases.
- Uploading Support Logs does not automatically upload RTK/PPK-specific data. When reaching out to Customer Support, you will need to copy files from the Media SD card and upload them to a file sharing service, such as Google Drive, for investigations. This may be needed for debugging PPK flights across all customers, and RTK flights for customers without Media Sync.
- Terrain Following is unavailable in this beta software, meaning reconstruction results may not be optimal for areas with large terrain elevation changes.
Map Capture Updates
Added a new setting toggle called Diagonal. When enabled, X10 will fly a diagonal path at the end of the scan to capture additional photos through the center of the scan area.
- The sensor package angle is set to 60° by default (Gimbal Pitch Down)
- Diagonal Overlap set to 85% by default

Fixes
- Resolved a Connect SL connectivity issue that impacted flight performance
- Improved the reliability of uploading telemetry data postflight
- Resolved an issue affecting the ability to upload Support Logs
