Import and View Custom Map Layers (General Availability)
Importing and viewing Custom Map Layers was introduced in October 2025 as an Early Access Program. With this release, the feature is now generally available for all customers.
You can now upload and view KML, KMZ, MBTiles, GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, or GeoPDF files directly on the controller map. Turn layers on or off at any time, even during flight, to improve situational awareness and stay aligned with operational requirements.
Public safety - Import published wildfire boundary files from federal, state, or local agencies (such as federal fire maps in California or Colorado) to ensure safe operations in restricted areas
Utilities and inspection - Highlight poles, assets, or defined zones to stay within designated boundaries and streamline inspections
General awareness - Add custom overlays to avoid sensitive areas or keep flight operations aligned with mission objectives
Map layers are visual only and do not affect flight paths or mission logic
