Navigate without GPS by setting a reference position on a map, allowing the drone to fly, execute waypoints, and return just as it would with GPS. Set a reference point to enable full vision navigation capabilities.
[note] Anchor point is supported on the Skydio X10D Connect MH.[/note]
Set an Anchor Point
Step 1 - Ensure that you have the maps you need for your area
Step 2 - Select Global Settings > Sensing > Toggle Vehicle GPS off
When GPS Navigation is turned off, an option to Keep GPS Navigation Off toggle will display, allowing users to save time and ensure consistent behavior between missions if they fly repeatedly with GPS Navigation off. If the toggle is enabled, GPS Navigation will remain off across flights and power cycles. If the GPS Navigation Off toggle is not enabled, the system defaults to GPS Navigation On.
Step 3 - Select Fly Now > the Map settings > Set Anchor Point
Step 4 - Drag the map to place the anchor point at the estimated position of the drone Step 5 - Long-press on a visible feature on the map (ensure the feature matches in the camera view) to set a heading point
Step 6 - Rotate the drone until the heading point (physical feature) appears in the camera view
Step 7 - Drag the compass ribbon to adjust the bearing until the vertical marker is aligned with the physical feature
Tap to Set Anchor Point Heading: The heading marker is fully interactive in the live camera view. Users can tap to place or move it, without breaking camera or vehicle movement, making alignment faster and more intuitive.
Anchor Point Heading: The heading camera view is fully interactive when setting Anchor Point heading. Pilots can tap anywhere on the view, even if the marker was previously offscreen, to place or reposition the heading marker, and can rotate or tilt the drone freely without breaking the interaction.
Step 8 (optional) - Adjust or relocalize the anchor point mid-mission in flight as needed
