Skydio X10 Wireless Priority Service (WPS)
Published: Updated:
Wireless Priority Service (WPS) is a federal program designed to give eligible agencies prioritized voice and data services in emergencies. Together with T-Mobile, Skydio is offering WPS to eligible customers in the US to receive priority access and preemption on T-Mobile’s nationwide network for their vehicle data connection.
Eligibility for WPS
An organization is eligible for WPS if they are a “Federal, state, local, and tribal police department, fire department, public safety answering point or 9-1-1 call center, EMS entity, essential healthcare provider or any other organization that uses telecommunication services necessary for the public health, safety, and maintenance of law and order.” (https://www.cisa.gov/resources-tools/services/wireless-priority-service-wps).
Benefits of WPS
Through WPS, eligible Skydio customers in the US receive priority access and preemption on T-Mobile’s nationwide cellular network for their vehicle data connection.
Offering data priority, WPS commits available network resources to the vehicle’s cellular connectivity to help maintain a minimum performance of 512 kbps, even in the most congested network environments, which can be enough to maintain connectivity and continue the mission.
Whether it’s a natural disaster, cyberattack, or even a large-scale public event, cellular networks can be overwhelmed. WPS ensures your leadership, operations, or field teams can fly missions when others can’t — a critical advantage in continuity and responsiveness.
How to set up WPS
Eligible organizations need to register with the DHS before they are allowed to use WPS
(https://www.cisa.gov/topics/emergency-communications/priority-services/how-to-enroll).
If you get T-Mobile WPS from Skydio, we handle everything end to end. Your vehicle will be shipped to you with a WPS SIM card and WPS provisioned and activated, with zero disruption to your team.

FAQ
[accordion heading="If I change carriers, does WPS follow me?"]
If you decide to fly on a different carrier other than T-Mobile after using WPS, you will need to discuss with your organizational point of contact (POC) how to enable WPS on the new carrier plan.
Enablement of WPS on T-Mobile through Skydio will not carry over to other carrier plans.
