Our goal is simple: You stay operational — we help ensure you always have what you need.
Why This Matters
For mission-critical operations—especially public safety and DFR—having the right consumables at the right time is essential.
This process helps ensure:
- Zero disruption to operations
- Predictable maintenance and replacement cycles
- Peace of mind for your team
- Compliance with lifecycle thresholds
Getting You Set Up
At the start of your deployment and onboarding, your Skydio team will work with you to:
- Review your consumables plan (if applicable)
- Confirm your current inventory of batteries and propellers
- Show you how to monitor consumables in Skydio Cloud
Monitoring Your Usage
Your system continuously tracks consumables usage through Skydio Cloud.
This allows you (and us) to:
- See real-time battery usage and lifecycle
- Understand when replacements will be needed
- Avoid unexpected downtime
Proactive Monitoring and Shipment of Consumables
If You Have a Consumables Plan Skydio will:
- Monitor your usage automatically
- Ship consumables once propellers or batteries are at 80% of their usable lifecycle
- When replacement is needed, we ship consumables directly to you
If You Don’t Have a Plan
- Your Skydio team will contact you when replacements are needed
- We’ll help you:
- Review your usage
- Purchase replacement consumables
- Ensure you stay operational
Why do we sell it:
- Budgeting. Our customers need up-front pricing stability to budget their programs; can’t pre-sell a bunch of batteries that will sit on shelves for multiple years.
- Up-time. We don’t want to risk customers unable to fly their missions due to lack of usable batteries or props.
Ordering & Delivery
When consumables are needed:
- Orders are processed quickly
- You’ll receive a tracking email once items ship
- Delivery typically takes 2–5 business days depending on location
Customer Responsibility for Fleet Management of Consumables
To maintain uninterrupted operations, we recommend:
- Regularly reviewing consumables usage in Skydio Cloud (see support documentation here)
- Maintaining a small buffer stock on-site
- Replacing batteries and propellers at recommended lifecycle thresholds
- Recycling used consumables locally
