Best for outdoor operations, especially well suited for larger missions that can be constructed and flown using GPS waypoints relative to a satellite base map. 

Quick Steps

  1. Create New Mission
  2. Set base location
  3. Set Mission Details
  4. Set your waypoints
  5. Define your transit to the waypoint 
  6. Set waypoint details
  7. Define your return behaviors

In-Depth

Step 1 - Select Missions and Planning from the navigation menu

    • select Create New Mission and Mission Plan - Map

Step 2 - Set your base location

    • enter location information and select your desired map

Step 3 - Set Mission Details

Click on the map to set your first waypoint

    • selecting your first waypoint will allow you to start setting the mission details

Name your mission or leave the default name 

Select recording mode:

    • Video 1080P 30FPS
    • Video 4K 30FPS
    • Video 4K 60FPS HDR
    • Photo HDR
    • Photo Basic

Select the Flight Mode: 

    • Default Daylight - normal light conditions

Step 4 (optional) - Check to enable Override Video Bitrate 

    • use the slider to select a video bitrate between 10 and 100 Mb/s to control the size of your media files

Step 5 (optional) - Wait for GPS Initialization 

    • select between 1 and 30 seconds
    • check to enable and enter values for where the vehicle waits

Step 6 - Set your waypoints

    • Waypoint 1 details will be pre-populated. You can adjust in the Waypoint Detail fields or by selecting the waypoint on the map and moving it

Step 7 - Define your transit to the waypoint 

Set obstacle avoidance

    • Standard
    • Reduced

Set the speed of your drone to the waypoint 

    • between 1 m/s and 8 m/s

Set your heading to the waypoint:

Interpolate - heading and camera pitch angle are automatically determined for a smooth transition while traveling between waypoints

OR

Custom - define the heading and camera pitch angle while traveling between waypoints

    • Heading - the direction the aircraft is pointing from 0° (True North) to 359°
    • Camera Pitch Angle - set from -90° to 90°

Step 8 - Set waypoint details

Enter a name for the waypoint or leave the default name

Latitude and Longitude will reflect the waypoint selected on the map

    • adjust the waypoint lat/long for a more precise location OR
    • adjust the waypoints by selecting and moving the waypoint on the map

Set the altitude of the waypoint from 1 to 200 meters above the launch point

Set the drone’s heading and camera pitch angle at the waypoint:

    • Heading - the direction the aircraft is pointing from 0° (True North) to 359°
    • Camera Pitch Angle - set from -90° to 90° 

Set the camera action at the waypoint

    • None (default)
    • Photo
    • Panorama

Set the video action at the waypoint:

    • Continue - reflect the recording mode from the last waypoint (either recording or not)
    • Start - recording video if not already recording
    • Stop - recording video if recording at the previous waypoint

Set the amount of time that the drone will pause at the waypoint from 0 to 60 seconds

Step 9 - Select a second point on the map to define another waypoint

Step 10 - Define your return behaviors

Set Loss Communications between 10 and 600 seconds to determine how long your drone waits to regain a signal connection. Default is 60 seconds.

Set your return type: 

    • Direct - your drone will return to the Dock taking the most direct path
    • Backtrack - your drone will return to the Dock following the waypoint path in reverse

Set your return altitude height behavior:

    • Absolute - above ground level
    • Relative - above the final waypoint 

Set return height from 1 to 200 feet AGL

As you set waypoints, the Mission length will automatically adjust so that you know how long your mission will take and how much media will be collected.

Step 11 - Select Save Mission Plan when you are done creating your mission
