Action Required: Parachute Compatibility Update

[warning] Your Skydio X10 or Dock for X10 Flight System must be updated to the listed version (or later) before operating with Parachute installed. Connecting a Parachute to a prior version of the Battin software may permanently render the Parachute inoperable, requiring hardware replacement. This applies to all Skydio X10 system configurations, both Dock-based and controller-based systems. If the Parachute is rendered inoperable, a critical error is displayed on the X10 Controller and in Skydio Cloud, and Parachute functionality is unavailable. Failure to follow this guidance may increase the risk of serious bodily injury and/or property damage. Prior to operating or performing maintenance, review the safety information at skydio.com/safety. [/warning]

This release includes a fix that addresses Parachute Attachment compatibility for controller-flown systems and prevents issues during initial setup.

  • Resolves an issue where Parachute becomes unusable when connected to a drone running an earlier version Battin software.

Icing Detection Alerts on X10 Controllers

Cold, wet conditions can cause ice to form on rotor blades, reducing lift and flight stability. Vehicle Icing Detection introduces a critical new safety feature that helps prevent incidents during cold and wet conditions by automatically identifying early signs of icing and alerting you before performance is affected.

For example, the drone detects icing during an automated mission while the remote operator is unaware of local moisture conditions. The prompt enables early corrective action before flight control degradation occurs.

  • Continuously monitors flight performance and detects reduced lift or increased drag that may indicate ice buildup
  • Icing alerts may appear in temperatures up to 46°F (8°C)
  • Enabled by default (no setup or setting configuration required)
  • Review the Skydio Winter Operations Guidance

[note]Icing detection provides an early warning but does not automatically return or land the drone. [/note]
