Scout - Find Subject
Skydio Scout settings has a new toggle that allows you to display or hide the subject Find button on the Fly screen. Selecting the Find button will yaw the vehicle to face the direction of the tracked GPS subject.
GPS Weak Altitude Limit
A safety measure that prevents flight above 33 ft (10 m) outdoors and 66 feet (20 m) indoors when GPS is weak that replaces the Indoor Height Ceiling toggle in the Flight Limits menu
[warning] Toggling OFF disables the altitude limit, and your drone will fly using only the vision navigation. To reduce the risk of an emergency landing, maintain a flight path near surfaces and objects. [/warning]
Subject Tracking Improvements
We've introduced a number of updates to Skydio autonomy that improve overall quality and reduce latency while tracking a subject.
Shuffle
Introducing Shuffle, a new setting for the Motion Track Flight Skill. When selected, your drone will autonomously pick a new position and orientation from which to follow the tracked subject.
- Position changes every 15 seconds
- Located under Follow Direction within the Skill settings
[note] While the position and orientation are chosen randomly, Skydio will continue to identify and avoid obstacles in the environment. [/note]
Smooth Mode
By default, your drone will capture footage with smoother camera movements when tracking a subject, even if the subject is changing direction quickly and frequently (such as when skiing or biking).
- Available when flying in Fixed Track or Motion Track
- Toggle off within the Skill settings
Improved Visual Framing
To avoid suboptimal shots, such as top-down views with the ground prominently in frame, Skydio will now ensure the horizon is kept in the top third of the frame while flying.
- Default elevation is now 9°
Increased Descent Speed
Through speed improvements, we have further amplified your ability to capture dynamic and impressive shots. Skydio will fly faster when descending at an angle during Fixed Track, Motion Track, or KeyFrame flights.

ENHANCEMENTS
KeyFrame Improvements
Gimbal Roll
You now have the ability to manually or automatically adjust the camera roll along the flight path when flying in the KeyFrame skill. Use the slider to adjust the gimbal roll from -35° to 35°.
- The new KeyFrame playback style Dynamic Gimbal Roll will automatically adjust the gimbal roll based on the KeyFrame spline, overriding the gimbal roll you set up for each point.
- The Recorded playback style will playback the KeyFrame sequence using the gimbal roll you set up at each point.
- The Free Look playback style allows for manual control of the gimbal roll using the Skydio Controller right paddle or Enterprise Controller right wheel.
Visual Positioning Improvements
We have improved KeyFrame to greatly reduce drift and increase accuracy for long-distance and when loading and replaying KeyFrames.
- Replaying KeyFrame in the same flight will result in less drift over time.
- Reloading KeyFrame over multiple flights is now more reliable.
Scout Improvements
Positioning Behavior
You can now set the drone’s behavior to automatically reposition itself to match changes in the subject’s heading, the drone will maintain its position relative to the tracked Skydio Enterprise Controller or Beacon. Select either Relative or Fixed in the Positioning Behavior menu:
- Relative - as the subject’s GPS heading changes, so will the subject frame with the tracked axis. The drone will autonomously yaw to mirror the rotational changes of the GPS heading.
- Fixed - the drone’s position and yaw will not reflect the rotational changes of the subject’s GPS heading.
AR Marker
To improve the Scout experience, we have now added an AR marker over the tracked subject. This allows the operator to more easily orient themselves to the tracked GPS subject while in flight.
Low Battery Auto Return
When enabled, Skydio will automatically return to your specified return location when the battery level is low. Enabling or disabling this feature persists across flights and power cycles.
- Enable this setting within the Return Behaviors menu

New (Core features for enterprise)
Indoor Height Ceiling
When flying indoors without GPS, Skydio will prevent you from flying above 66 feet (20 meters). With this update, we’ve added the option to disable this Indoor Height Ceiling. If you choose to disable your indoor height ceiling, make sure your drone stays within 66 ft of surfaces to ensure robust visual navigation.
By default the Indoor Height Ceiling is enabled; disabling the Indoor Height Ceiling setting does not persist across flights or power cycles.
Memory Card Overwrite
Skydio has made it easier for you to manage your media storage space by automatically deleting old media to ensure that you can always start a new flight without waiting. Toggle this setting on to automatically delete the oldest media stored on the SD memory card. This setting will persist across flights and power cycles.
View Last Flights
The View Last Flights feature is designed to assist you with locating your drone in the event of a crash, emergency landing, or low battery landing in an unintended location. Review video of the 10 most recent flights even if your phone or controller is not connected to your drone.
Map Coordinates
When viewing your maps, creating waypoint missions, or orbiting a point of interest, you now have the option to view latitude and longitude coordinates. The position of Skydio 2, the Controller, Home Point, and Fly Here Now will display coordinates on the map in real-time. Disable this setting if you do not want coordinates displayed. Your selection will persist across flights and power cycles.
Find Drone

Skydio 3D Scan
Skydio 3D Scan™ is unprecedented adaptive scanning software that is now available for purchase to use with Skydio 2 Enterprise App for iOS.* 3D Scan builds a model of the scene, using automated data capture processes to generate 3D models that include comprehensive coverage and ultra-high resolution. Operators can perform higher quality inspections in less time, with minimal pilot training. The precise, visually geotagged imagery generated by Skydio 3D Scan is easily exported to any mainstream photogrammetry software, generating high-quality, higher-resolution models without the mountains of extra data required by traditional capture methods.
Features include:
-
- Adaptive Mapping
- 2D Capture
- 3D Capture
- Visual Geofencing
- Edge Model Viewer
- Data Export to 3rd party photogrammetry software, including DroneDeploy, Pix4D, Bentley ContextCapture, and Reality Capture.
