With the recent Skydio Enterprise App update, (version 24.2.0 (12) for iOS and 24.2.9 for Android), we introduced Map Capture (formerly called 2D GPS Capture) as part of your Skydio Autonomy Enterprise suite. With this addition, you will see a new button option on the FLY screen called Switch Modes.

  • 3D Scan is the new mode that enables Map Capture flights

Before switching modes, you must ensure you have two microSD cards inserted. If you enter the 3D Scan mode without a second microSD card, you will be unable to return to the Skill mode. MapCap_bug10_cropped.png

Unable to exit 3D Scan mode

If you have already switched modes without a second microSD card and are unable to return to Skills, you have two options:

  • Insert a second microSD card
  • Factory reset your drone

Insert a second microSD card

If you did not purchase a Skydio Enterprise Kit with both the Media Card and Logs Card pre-installed, you must purchase a second card and add it to your drone.

[note] We test with and strongly recommend using SanDisk Extreme (128 GB and 256 GB) microSD cards. [/note]

Step 1 - Remove the battery

Gently pull the battery from the bottom of your drone.

Step 2 - Remove the black cover

Flip the drone over and locate the Media Card slot. To the right of this, you’ll notice a black cover blocking access to the Logs Card. You will need to remove this.

Carefully and slowly pull the bottom of the cover toward the camera. This will expose a plastic placeholder for the Logs Card. Gently push inward to dislodge the plastic insert.
