On June 27, 2025 Skydio announced a second generation of X10.

Skydio X10 (Gen 2) includes hardware upgrades that focus on cellular performance, including an upgrade to the cellular modem and antenna changes, to enable customers to bring their own cellular plan.

Skydio X10 (Gen 2) hardware benefits:

  • Enables Bring Your Own Plan (BYOP) with additional carriers: With the updated cellular modem and the certification of new carriers comes the ability for customers to bring their own cellular plan. All X10 (Gen 2)s now support AT&T, AT&T FirstNet, T-Mobile, T-Mobile WPS, Verizon, KDDI and NTT. Support for other international carriers is coming soon.
  • Enables future 5G Standalone capabilities, including network access during periods of congestion (network slicing), lower latency, and increased bandwidth (5G core).
  • Lower latency and better streaming quality: Additional modem telemetry and deeper insights into its internal processes enable improved connection quality and more effective optimization of data throughput.

Additional changes and improvements:

  • All gray color
  • Improved rubber plugs for SD-cards and USB-C ports
  • Underside cover change to minimize battery corrosion with dock-based deployments
