Overview

The True North indicator overlay gives pilots an immediate sense of cardinal direction without needing to look away from the video feed. The arrow always points to true north, regardless of drone heading, camera yaw, pitch, or roll.

  • True North augments other AR overlays (e.g., subject tracking, waypoints) and can be used in conjunction with other features.

  • The displayed arrow and renders parallel to the ground.

  • The overlay maintains a consistent apparent size as the drone moves closer to or farther from terrain.

Configuring the True North Overlay

To enable the True North indicator:

  1. From any open cockipit in Remote Flight Deck, go to Settings > Display.

  2. Toggle on AR Street Overlays.

  3. Under AR Street Overlays > North indicator arrow, click Small/Medium/Large to display the indicator overlay at the specified size.

Troubleshooting

If True North is enabled and the cockpit view does not show the indicator, check that Settings > Display > AR Street Overlays is enabled.
