Skydio X10 Controller version 37.2.32
Skydio X10 drone firmware version 37.2.72

The following release is available for both Skydio X10 and Skydio X10D.

Critical Update: Mitigated Power Loss During Flight Issue

[note] Flight will be blocked with batteries that have not been updated. We highly recommend updating your entire fleet at once to ensure safe, uninterrupted flight with all batteries. We also recommend that fleet managers and operators perform this software update across all batteries in one batch ahead of time in the office, as opposed to in the field, before any critical operations. [/note]

This release includes a mitigation for the rare occurrence of power loss during flight, outlined in a Notice to Operators (NTO) from January 31, 2025. The issue was caused by an uncommanded battery reset due to a communication fault within the battery’s management system.

  • Mitigates the power loss issue by addressing the communication fault within the battery’s management unit
  • Requires updates to Skydio X10/X10D, the X10 controller, and all X10 batteries
  • Batteries must be updated before flight after the drone and controller have been updated
    • Flights will be blocked with batteries that have not been updated
    • Updates to batteries will occur automatically when each battery is inserted into the drone
    • Once you perform the one-time battery update, you will be able to continue flying with that battery
    • Each battery should take approximately 30 to 60 seconds to update
  • Each battery must be updated individually — we recommend updating your entire fleet in one batch to avoid disruptions during field operations
  • Preflight Checks — Continue to perform standard preflight inspections and adhere to best practices to minimize ground risk

How to update your batteries

Step 1 - Update your X10 Controller, followed by your Skydio X10 in accordance with normal update workflows

Step 2 - Insert a battery into the updated drone and power it on

Step 3 - You will see a notification on the Gate Screen as the battery begins automatically updating (this process should take 30 to 60 seconds)

[note] The battery update begins as soon as the drone powers on, meaning it may complete before the update notification appears on the X10 Controller. If the controller and drone have been updated, but the above screen does not appear, you can assume the battery update is complete. [/note]

Step 4 - When the update completes, power off the drone and remove the battery

Step 5 - Insert the next battery

Step 6 - Repeat this process until you have successfully updated all batteries

After updating, you will be able to check the version of individual batteries in Skydio Cloud. Updated batteries will display firmware version 2.0.2:

Additional Fixes

Connect SL

  • Controllers using Connect SL failed to establish a connection to X10 when using Channel 144 (DFS)
  • If the system selected Channel 144, the controller would not connect the next time it was powered on, requiring a reboot to restore connectivity
  • Channel 144 has been removed from the available DFS channels to prevent this issue

Postflight Telemetry

  • Resolves an issue where the user email was displayed as unknown in postflight telemetry data
  • Improves the reliability of uploading postflight telemetry data from the X10 Controller

Support Logs

  • Uploaded Support Logs displayed a failure notification, despite a successful upload
  • Resolves the issue and improves the ability to upload Support Logs
