Skydio Cloud offers an Axon Respond Live Stream integration to view the real-time color and thermal video captured by your Skydio drone. Axon Respond integrates location data, and video feeds from your Skydio drones to give you a complete picture of evolving situations on any web or mobile browser. Your Skydio Cloud account must be provisioned before configuring the Axon Respond Live Stream feature.

Needed:

    • Skydio Administrative access
    • Axon Evidence Administrative access
    • Computer with Internet
    • Skydio Live Streaming license

Supported systems:

    • Skydio X10 and X10 Controller
    • Skydio X10 and Remote Flight Deck (via browser)
    • Skydio X2 and Enterprise Controller
        • controller must be connected to a hotspot or 2.4 GHz wireless network with internet
    • Skydio 2/2+ and Enterprise Controller
        • controller must be connected to a hotspot or 2.4 GHz wireless network with internet
    • Skydio 2/2+ and mobile device
        • (Android or iOS) on cellular data/LTE

Integration Setup Steps

Step 1 - Log into cloud.skydio.com

Step 2 - Set up your Skydio Cloud account. Visit Getting Started with Skydio Cloud for detailed instructions.

    • Add users and set their role to Admin
    • Ensure that you have claimed the Skydio vehicle that is live streaming

Step 3 - Open a new tab in your browser

    • Log into your organization’s Skydio Axon Evidence account using an admin-level email account
    • Select Admin - located on the top navigation bar

Step 4 - Select the Axon Air API Settings tab

    • Located under Security Settings

Reach out to your Axon account manager if you do not see Axon Air API Settings.

Step 5 - Select Add New

Step 6 - Select Skydio from the drop-down in the System box

    • Enter a description or name of your organization

Step 7  - Enable feature permissions

  • Allow Respond Live Streaming
  • Allow Evidence Management

Step 8 - Copy the client secret

[info] Once you close the Axon Create A New Air Access Client page, the Secret will no longer be available. If the integration fails, you will need to generate a new Secret. [/info]

Step 9 - Open Skydio Portal and navigate to the open Skydio Cloud browser tab

Step 10 - In the Skydio Cloud browser tab

    • Select the Settings menu
    • Select Axon Integration
    • Select Add Credential
    • Navigate to Settings > Axon Integration > Validate Axon API Credentials. Select Validate.

Step 11 - Copy and Paste from Axon into Skydio Cloud

    • Secret - password string (will not be available after the window is closed)
    • Partner ID - unique Axon ID for your organization
    • Client ID - unique Skydio Cloud ID

Step 12 - Enter your Default Axon User Email

    • Must be a valid user email address in your Axon account
    • Will serve as the default email address for any unidentified pilots
    • Select Save
    • Select Send to validate Axon API Credentials

Step 13 - Set role-based permissions in Evidence.com

    • the ability to view the Respond location map and live stream is based on role-based permissions set by an evidence.com admin. The permission must be changed to Allowed for all user roles who want permission to view the drone’s location and the live stream.

Step 14 - Validate Axon Respond credentials 

    • Select the Settings menu
    • Select Axon Integration
    • Select Validate

Sync Cloud Settings to Your Drone

Step 1 - Power on your drone and connect to your controlling device

Step 2 - Ensure that your controlling device is connected to the Internet

  • If you have an X10 with Skydio Connect 5G, ensure 5G has been enabled if you want to operate over cellular
  • If using the Skydio X10 Controller or Skydio Enterprise Controller, navigate to INFO / Information > Device Settings > Network and ensure WiFi is toggled on. Select WiFi Settings to connect to a Hotpot or WiFi network with internet

Step 3 - Sync your Skydio Cloud features

    • Select the INFO / Information menu
    • Select your drone
    • Select Cloud Settings
  1. Select Download features from Cloud to sync from Skydio Cloud to your controlling device.
  2. Select Sync Settings to Drone to sync Skydio Cloud settings from your controlling device to your drone.

Start Your Live Stream

Skydio X10

Flying over cellular connection (Skydio Connect 5G)

If you have Skydio Connect 5G and you've enabled cellular for your system, whenever you fly using Skydio Connect 5G (you've selected Connect 5G on your X10 Controller or you're flying from Remote Flight Deck) a live stream will automatically generate for your flight.

You will see the "Live" indicator at the top of your screen, indicating that you are actively live streaming your flight. You will also be able to view the live stream in Axon Respond.

Flying without cellular connection

Step 1 - Connect your controller to the Internet 

  • Navigate to INFO / Information > Device Settings > Network and ensure WiFi is toggled on
  • Select WiFi Settings to connect to a Hotpot or WiFi network with internet

Step 2 - Launch and fly

Step 3 - Open the Sharing menu

  • Navigate to Global Settings > Sharing

Step 3 - Select ReadyLink

Step 4 - Select Start ReadyLink

  • While streaming, you will be able to see how many viewers are watching your flight
  • You will see a "Live" indicator at the top of your screen

You will now be able to view the live stream in Axon Respond.

Skydio 2/2+ and X2

Step 1 - Ensure that your controlling device is connected to the Internet 

  • If using the Skydio Enterprise Controller, navigate to INFO > Device Settings > Network and ensure WiFi is toggled on. Select WiFi Settings to connect to a Hotpot or WiFi network with internet.

Step 2 - Launch and fly

Step 3 - Select the video/camera icon

Step 4 - Select the Streaming tab and select Start Streaming

 

You will now be able to view the live stream in Axon Respond.

View the Live Stream in Axon Respond

Step 1 - Log in to your organization’s Skydio Axon Evidence account 

Step 2 - Select the Respond tab

  • The Skydio drones that have initiated a Live Stream will be listed here

Step 3 - Select Live Stream to view
