Support Tip of the Month

As part of our 2023 Spring Release, in the latest version of the Skydio App, we’ve changed the name of the logs needed whenever escalating to the Skydio Support team. Previously they were called “Flight Logs,” which created some confusion, hence they’ve been re-titled “Skydio Support Logs”. To learn more about uploading these logs to the support team, please be sure to read these updated articles:

Q + A

Question: Are Skydio Help Articles and Manuals available in other languages?

  • Answer: Yes! We have localized many of our support articles into both Japanese and Spanish to meet our international customers’ needs. To access these articles, your browser cookies must be enabled and point to the correct country locale. If you want to preview any Japanese or Spanish content, simply replace the “en-us” in any Skydio support article URL with either “es” (for Spanish) or “ja” (for Japanese). Examples are linked below.

Skydio Successes of the Month

  • Huge news - the FAA granted waivers for Dominion Energy and New York Power Authority which enable fully remote beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations using Skydio Dock and Remote Ops with no flight crew on site! Read our blog post to learn how the Skydio Regulatory team can help your customers with similar breakthroughs for their specific vertical challenges.

  • Related to that success story, we have another new blog post on electric utility substation monitoring. In that post, we talk about many use cases, including recurring inspection, post-incident inspection, and security monitoring. The post also shares a bit about recent Dock and Remote Ops software updates and Skydio Regulatory Services.

Did you know?

Skydio is Remote ID Compliant

All new Skydio drones produced on or after September 16th, 2022, per FAA guidelines, have Standard Remote ID built in.

  • Skydio drones produced before September 16, 2022, are not impacted by this change and will not be required to broadcast a Remote ID until September 16, 2023. Skydio is working to determine the best path for Remote ID compliance and plans to enable compliance via a simple software update.

  • Our customers are our top priority, and we are committed to helping every Skydio pilot comply with the law. In the coming months, we will share more details for customers with non-Remote ID-enabled drones.

  • See this customer-facing support article for more details: What is Remote ID, and how does Skydio have you covered?
